I always found Hyena's to be the most frightening of all the African animals.
They're cold-hearted, plotting scavengers who will often kill in excess just for the sake of killing...
The vary memory of the gnu carcasess send shivers down my spine. The very thought of one animal killing in such a way is stunning.
Hyenas are Malice in flesh and blood.

I send my respect to you, the artist, and to the animal you successfully re-created.

I'm sure that I've read somewhere that they hunt a lot more often than they scavenge.

Very true. But they often hunt in excess. Especially during mating season and during the Great Migration.
