A black and white print from one of my old portfolios that I finally got around to coloring. Cougars are such beautiful animals and felt this one would look good in the red rocks.
Mixed Media acrylic inks marker color pencil.

Wow you deserve even more attention than what you have received. This is just incredible. I can't even imagine the hours upon hours you spent on this (I am sure it was weeks xD this is just amazing. you can see every line in the fur and everything looks so real, especially the back ground. The back ground really pops out the character!
Definitely very beautifully done, and highly impressive considering this is done in traditional media. I don't know if I've ever seen someone use paint, marker and pencil all in the same image. Very, very nice combo.
And I honestly hate to say anything even slightly critical of the image, but as gorgeous as the fur looks, I think maybe you went a little overboard with the texture...and I know how easy it is to do that when you feel the space the figure is occupying looks too plain. This is only my opinion as an artist, so please don't take it personally; rather, take with a big grain of salt. It looks almost like the head isn't part of the body because the fur and texture on the cougar's head is so smooth, while its body looks fluffy and almost feathery. I think it conflicts a tiny bit with the background since you made the scenery so very nicely and heavily detailed. I only say this because I wouldn't want to see attention drawn away from the stunning work on the figure himself, but at the same time, I wouldn't want attention to be drawn away from the beauty of the scenery.
That's just me, though. Definitely a beautiful piece and one of few I've seen worthy of a DD ranking.
There's something different about this wonderful piece than other anthropoid creations; This one has a more realistic feel to it, and as many others have said I just want to reach out and brush the fur...This is beautifully executed, very wonderous work!
